Superette Market – Seasonal Sales Associate

Overview

Superette Market is Sacramento’s one-stop shop for entertaining essentials. Our shelves are filled with specialty snacks, pantry staples, cheese & charcuterie, thoughtful accoutrements, and unique housewares—everything you need for a great gathering.

We’re hiring a part-time, seasonal Sales Associate to join our team this fall. This role is ~20 hours per week from October through December, with the possibility of continuing into the new year.

As a Sales Associate, you’ll be the friendly face that greets our customers, keeps the shop looking its best, and helps people discover products they’ll love. If you enjoy connecting with people, appreciate great food, and have a knack for design and hosting, this is the role for you.

What You’ll Do

Customer Service

  • Create a warm, welcoming environment by greeting and assisting customers.
  • Anticipate needs, answer questions, and make thoughtful product suggestions.
  • Support store operations by assisting with opening and closing tasks.

Visual Merchandising

  • Keep the shop clean, organized, and well-stocked.
  • Ensure products are displayed beautifully and replenished throughout the day. 

What We’re Looking For

  • You naturally connect with people and enjoy conversation.
  • You’re excited about food, cooking, and entertaining—and love sharing that enthusiasm.
  • You have an eye for design, detail, and presentation.
  • You’re a multitasker who stays observant and proactive on the sales floor.
  • You’re self-motivated, reliable, and follow through on tasks.
  • You’re available evenings, at least one weekend day, and some holidays.
  • You have 1+ years of retail sales experience (food retail preferred).

Bonus Points For:

  • Food Handler’s certification.
  • Familiarity with POS systems and Mac OS.

Details

  • Part-time, hourly position (~20 hours/week starting mid-October)
  • Pay: $18–$20/hour DOE

  • Physical demands: Standing/walking for extended periods, lifting up to 40 lbs., moving quickly, and completing standard retail tasks
